GamesAdds DLSS and XeSS multi-frame-generation controls to supported Windows games via a drop-in DLL.
Overview
MFG Unlocker is a Windows x64 DLL that injects menu controls for multi-frame generation into supported games. It targets DLSS Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50, 40, 30 and 20 series GPUs with fixed multipliers up to 6x and Dynamic MFG where supported, and can also run XeSS Multi Frame Generation (XeMFG) standalone or through OptiScaler on NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs. DLSS 5 options are exposed for games with DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA or Ray Reconstruction when a compatible DLSS 5 DLL is present.
On RTX 50 cards, native DLSS MFG is used and the tool only adds menu controls. For DLSS MFG on other GPUs, the game must already integrate Streamline DLSS Frame Generation; whether a multiplier is usable depends on the GPU, runtime and NVIDIA's per-game override maximum.
Quick start
- Download
MFGUnlocker-v1.7.0.zipfrom Releases and extract it. - Rename
MFGUnlocker.dllto a DLL name the game loads early, usuallyversion.dllorwinmm.dll; the game compatibility list gives the name per game. - Place the DLL next to the actual game executable, not a launcher.
- Launch the game, enable Frame Generation, and press Backspace to open the menu.
Full steps, upgrade and uninstall instructions are in the install guide. OptiScaler users should read the dedicated OptiScaler guide; XeMFG standalone has its own documentation.
Constraints
- This is experimental software; frame-generation availability varies by game, GPU and active runtime.
- Games with anti-cheat are not supported.
- The ZIP contains a precompiled Windows DLL, so users depend on the published release; source builds are described in BUILD.md.
- Original code is under the MIT License, but the embedded XeSS Frame Generation data originates from Intel's XeSS SDK and remains under Intel's terms, as detailed in NOTICE.md.
HotRepo's take
The project reached first place on GitHub's C++ daily list on 2026-11-07 with 67 stars gained that day and 2,103 total stars. That single snapshot shows a spike of interest in a narrowly scoped graphics modding utility, but it does not establish long-term adoption or behavior across the many game and GPU combinations the tool claims to support; the compatibility documentation and issue tracker are the places to check for a specific title.
