Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the operator of HotRepo ("we") handles your personal data. If you only browse the site without signing in, we do not collect information that identifies you.

Data we collect

  • Basic GitHub account details provided at sign-in: user ID, username, display name, avatar, and your verified primary email if you grant access. We do not store your GitHub access token.
  • API keys: we store only an irreversible hash and the first few characters, for identification and display.
  • MCP usage: daily call counts per tool and when each key was last used, to enforce usage limits.
  • Subscription details: payments are processed by Stripe, which collects and stores your card and payment details; we store only your Stripe customer ID, subscription status and billing period.
  • Server logs: IP address, browser information and timestamps, for security and rate limiting.
  • Analytics: we use self-hosted Plausible, which uses no cookies, stores no IP addresses and reports only aggregate figures.

How we use it

To provide and secure the Service, enforce usage limits, manage subscriptions and improve features. We do not sell personal data and we do not show ads.

Sharing

We share data only with providers needed to run the Service: GitHub (sign-in), Stripe (payments) and Alibaba Cloud (hosting), or when required by law.

Retention

We keep account data while your account exists and delete it within 30 days after you ask us to delete your account. Payment records that law or tax rules require us to keep are retained by us and Stripe for the required period.

Your rights

You can email us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your data.

Cookies and local storage

We use a single cookie (hotrepo_lang) to remember your language. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser's local storage. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Changes

When we update this policy we change the date on this page; material changes will be announced on the site.
