MiniMax-AI/mcode-stack
Developer ToolsInstall the MiniMax Code team's coding-agent skills and workflows to structure planning, review, and long agent sessions.
This repository packages the skills and workflows the MiniMax Code team uses when building with the MiniMax Code coding agent. It is a set of installable SKILL.md skills, checklists and WORKFLOW.md documents rather than a prompt list or an agent implementation; the team says these are the pieces it uses daily for planning, context management, review and emergency changes Repository overview.
What it changes in practice
The first stack, stacks/ronny, contains 15 skills organized around moments in a coding session. Examples include deciding whether to send work to a subagent, splitting features into small PRs, drafting change descriptions, auditing tool and context costs, compacting long sessions, reviewing a diff from a clean context, and judging whether a hotfix is a genuine emergency Skill table. Each is invoked by name in MiniMax Code (e.g. /long-command-check) or can be loaded by the agent from its description; checklists can also be read as plain text. WORKFLOW.md files describe how an individual works with the agent day to day, and companion articles explain the reasoning behind selected skills Stacks layout.
Ways to install
There are three documented paths with different prerequisites:
- Single skill: clone the repository, then copy one skill directory into
~/.agents/skills/(or another recognized skills directory) and open a new session Quick start. - Local plugin: copy a whole stack directory into the local plugin directory reported by
mcode plugin marketplace list, then refresh through MiniMax Code's/pluginspanel Quick start. - Marketplace: the repository is itself a plugin marketplace, so stacks can be added and updated from within the desktop app or from Claude Code with its
/plugin marketplace addand/plugin installcommands Quick start.
MiniMax Code is the primary target, and the repository states it contains no MiniMax Code source code Relationship section. Because skills use the common SKILL.md format, most also work in other agents that support skills, though the README does not enumerate or validate those agents. Marketplace support is rolling out gradually, so the installed version may not yet expose "Add marketplace." The mcode plugin add command only installs from the official catalog, not GitHub URLs or local paths.
Conditions worth knowing
- The skills are habits and checklists for the agent to follow; they do not replace the agent or guarantee code quality. The repository states everything will keep changing as the team learns.
- The license is MIT, but stack-level
NOTICE.mdfiles can override it: the sixengineering-*skills are adapted from Google Engineering Practices and remain under CC-BY 3.0 License section. - Contributing a stack requires a real
WORKFLOW.md, at least one actually used skill or checklist, and a run ofnode scripts/check.mjsbefore opening a PR.
HotRepo's take
HotRepo recorded this repository at 150 total stars, #25 on the NEW-REPOSITORY board for Python, on 2026-10-28. That is a single dated observation of a new-repository board, not daily growth or evidence of momentum.
