tvOS Launcher replaces the default home screen on Android TV and Google TV with a tvOS 26 and macOS-inspired interface: a glass dock, layered "Night Scenes" wallpapers, a large glass clock, weather, and an app grid. What changes in daily use

The launcher adds a universal Control Panel overlay reachable over any running app through the Button Mapper accessibility service, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, sound, sleep timer, inputs, and power actions. The same service allows multi-tap remote remapping: one button can trigger different actions on single, double, or triple press, for example opening the Control Panel on 1x and the Recent Apps switcher on 2x. The launcher also supports per-app customization (rename, custom icon with a built-in icon editor, hide, or move to an "Other apps" folder), up to three profiles, and automatic checks of GitHub Releases for updates. Weather is fetched from Open-Meteo, MET Norway, or wttr.in without an API key.

Setup and permissions

Most capabilities depend on permissions that ordinary TV apps cannot grant themselves: default home, accessibility service, device admin, notification listener, usage stats, and secure settings. The README's "Easy Setup" path connects to local ADB at 127.0.0.1:5555 to grant these in one step, and "Keep Alive" re-applies them through the same channel if the firmware revokes them. Debloater caveat

The built-in CleanYourTV (Beta) debloater applies bundled profiles for 341 TV and box models over local ADB. It pre-selects telemetry and ad packages but leaves optional services like Google Assistant or Chromecast receiver unchecked. The README includes a specific Google TV warning: disabling setupwraith or launcherx without re-adding Wi-Fi can leave the TV without network; the tool offers a one-tap skip of setupwraith.
