GitHub Star History: star growth chart for any repo

Star history chart

How it works

Where does the data come from?
From GitHub's star history API. Each point on the line is the repo's total stars on that day; the last point is its current count.
What are the gold sections?
Days the repo was on the all-languages GitHub Trending daily list.
How often does it update?
A repo's first chart takes a few seconds to fetch, no sign-in needed. After that, it updates automatically when viewed more than 24 hours after the last update.
Where do I get the Trending badge?
Repos that have ranked on the all-languages GitHub Trending daily list have a Trending shield next to the title on their HotRepo review page. Click it to pick a style and copy the README code. The badge shows the best rank and the most recent day it got there; records start Oct 24, 2026.
What do the numbers at the top mean?
The repo's current star count. With a time range selected, it also shows the stars gained in that range.
Where does the chart link to?
The repo's page on HotRepo: its review if it has one; otherwise its star history and trending record, where signed-in users can request a review.
