Media & DesignIndex of 2,791 free low-poly GLB models and 26 themed kits for three.js, games and web projects.
What this is
Polyfork Catalog is the public index of polyfork.dev, a library of 2,791 free low-poly 3D models organised into 26 themed kits. It is aimed at three.js developers, game makers and anyone who needs lightweight 3D assets for the web.
Models are distributed in two forms: plain glTF/GLB files loadable by three.js, Unity, Godot, Blender or other glTF-compatible tools, and ES modules that expose a createAsset() function with parameters such as colorway, roof and season (model-as-code example). Each kit shares a palette and scale so parts can be combined within one scene.
This repository holds only names, links and small cover images; the model files themselves stay on polyfork.dev, so links always resolve to the latest version (repository contents).
Quick start
The README includes a self-contained three.js page. Save this as van.html and open it in a browser:
<!doctype html>
<body style="margin:0">
<script type="importmap">
{ "imports": {
"three": "https://unpkg.com/three@0.180.0/build/three.module.js",
"three/addons/": "https://unpkg.com/three@0.180.0/examples/jsm/"
} }
</script>
<script type="module">
import * as THREE from 'three';
import { createAsset } from 'https://polyfork.dev/cdn/pop-top-camper-van-62a322.mjs';
const scene = new THREE.Scene();
scene.background = new THREE.Color('#e9edf3');
scene.add(new THREE.HemisphereLight('#ffffff', '#8a94a6', 3));
const camera = new THREE.PerspectiveCamera(35, innerWidth / innerHeight, 0.1, 100);
camera.position.set(6, 3.5, 7);
camera.lookAt(0, 1, 0);
const renderer = new THREE.WebGLRenderer({ antialias: true });
renderer.setSize(innerWidth, innerHeight);
document.body.append(renderer.domElement);
scene.add(createAsset({ colorway: 'tomato', roof: 0, season: 'winter' }));
renderer.render(scene, camera);
</script>
If you only need a mesh, load the corresponding GLB with GLTFLoader from https://polyfork.dev/cdn/<model-id>.glb (loading example). From a terminal, npx polyfork add <model-id> copies a model into your project without a global install; npx polyfork search <words> finds IDs (CLI section). Browse the full list at polyfork.dev/assets or in the per-type indexes linked from the README.
Constraints
- The model files are not stored in this repository; network access to polyfork.dev is required to load them.
- Free models may be used and modified in personal and commercial projects without attribution, but the files themselves may not be re-uploaded or redistributed. Products that need their own copies require the platform licence (licence section, full terms).
- The index licence is separate from the model licence and is covered by
LICENSE.md; the repository description is marked NOASSERTION on GitHub. - Kits are themed subsets on a shared palette and scale; models outside the listed 26 kits are still being filled in, so some kits have only partial part counts (in-production list).
HotRepo's take
On the HotRepo new-project board for 2026-11-06, the repository recorded 132 stars and 14 forks, with 22 stars and 2 forks gained in the roughly one-hour window between 13:45 and 14:45 UTC. That single-snapshot record shows quick early attention for an index-only repository whose assets live off-site. The catalog is generated from the live catalogue, so its usefulness tracks the breadth of polyfork.dev rather than anything built here; judge it by whether the kit coverage and the GLB/ES-module formats fit your pipeline.
