huacnlee/noop
AI EngineeringRun a small team of Claude Code and Codex agents on your own machines to handle daily work and surface only key decisions.
What it does
Noop is a self-hosted agent orchestrator: it runs Claude Code and Codex agents across your own computers as a small team. You give a one-sentence goal, and the team breaks the work into parallel tasks, then reports results. Instead of streaming raw logs and errors, it surfaces outcomes and decisions, asking you only when a choice really needs a human, with a short list of tappable options. It starts cautious and gradually takes over decisions it has seen you make before.
The primary machine runs the service; additional machines join as workers when online. The stack is TypeScript, the license is MIT, and the service is intended to run on your machines and your own free Cloudflare account. Client apps for desktop and mobile are optional, since the address also works in a browser.
Quick start
-
Pick an always-on Linux machine and run the install script as the primary node:
curl -fsSL https://huacnlee.github.io/noop/install.sh | bash -s -- --primary -
When prompted, log in to your Cloudflare account; the free plan is enough.
-
Add worker machines on macOS or Linux with the same script without
--primary, or on Windows via PowerShell:irm https://huacnlee.github.io/noop/install.ps1 | iex -
Open your Noop address in a browser and sign in with the email code. On phones you can add it to the home screen and enable notifications.
Optional desktop clients install through install-client.sh (macOS Apple silicon 14+, Linux x86_64 with GTK 4.14+) or install-client.ps1 on Windows. Android 9+ users can install the APK; iOS 15+ users must sideload the unsigned IPA with their own Apple ID. Current releases are listed on the releases page.
Constraints
The primary node is described as an always-on Linux machine; other machines only contribute while online. The setup requires a Cloudflare account login during installation, and the agents run on the user's own hardware. The iOS build is unsigned and needs sideloading, while Android uses a direct APK rather than a store install. The README does not document hardware sizing, model/API-key configuration, data retention, or how the install scripts map to the TypeScript source.
HotRepo's take
In the recorded TypeScript new-project snapshot for 2026-11-05, Noop gained 10 stars over a roughly two-hour window, rising from 107 to 117 stars, with no known all-language daily rank. That is a short observation window on a very young repository, so it shows early attention rather than sustained traction. The design—one-command installs, free Cloudflare hosting, and browser-first access—lowers the setup barrier, but the distribution model centers on install scripts and prebuilt apps rather than a documented local build path, which is worth checking before adopting it.
