Developer ToolsCLI for browsing, installing, and monitoring Claude Code components like skills, agents, commands, MCPs, and hooks.
What it does
Claude Code Templates is a CLI and component catalog for Anthropic's Claude Code. The project publishes roughly 1,900 installable components — skills, agents, slash commands, MCP integrations, settings, hooks, mods, loops, sandboxes, and project templates — and lets you combine several of them into one install command. It targets Claude Code users who want prebuilt configurations rather than writing agents, hooks, and MCP setups from scratch.
Components are browsable and previewable on the aitmpl.com catalog, where you can search, inspect every file a component writes, and build a combined install command.
Quick start
Installation runs through npm and requires Node.js with npx. To install a development stack in one shot:
npx claude-code-templates@latest --agent development-team/frontend-developer --command testing/generate-tests --mcp integration/github-integration --yes
Run the CLI with no arguments to browse and install interactively:
npx claude-code-templates@latest
Individual components use the same flag-per-type pattern, for example --skill creative-design/frontend-design --yes or --hook git/conventional-commits --yes. The package is published on npm.
Local tools
Besides the catalog, the CLI ships three local tools. Analytics runs a dashboard at http://localhost:3333 for live session state and usage metrics (--analytics). The chat browser at http://localhost:9876 reads and searches Claude Code conversations (--chats). A health check diagnoses the Claude Code installation and project setup (--health-check, with --check and --verify as aliases). Both dashboards listen on 127.0.0.1 and only answer to localhost because they serve conversation history; to view chats from another device, forward the port over SSH instead of using the removed --tunnel option.
Constraints
Several flags, including --plugins, --sandbox, --tunnel, --create-agent, and --chats-mobile, were removed in 1.31.0; running one prints its replacement. Sandboxes are now launched from cli-tool/components/sandbox/ rather than the CLI flag. The project is MIT-licensed. Components collected from other sources retain their original licenses and attribution, so check per-component licensing before redistribution.
HotRepo's take
Snapshot records for July 2026 show the repository adding 230 to 274 stars per day in a consistent four-day stretch, and it still added 389 stars on 2026-09-24. On 2026-11-04 it ranked 17th on the Python daily list with 31 stars that day. That kind of sustained daily pull fits a catalog whose value grows with each component it adds; the 1,900-component count and the 1.31.0 flag removals show the project is actively pruning and reorganizing rather than just accumulating entries.
